Recently, 17500LT crude oil tanker, built by Jiangsu Sainty Ship Building Co., Ltd had its trial run in Zhoushan sea area. During the test, the main propulsion system was operated normally, and the speed exceeded the designed requirement. The shipyard and ship owner gave a very high recognition to the test result. The main engine of this ship was MAN 9L32/40, and power system was designed with “one drives two” arrangement, i.e. the CP propeller and shaft generator were driven by the gearbox. The whole power system, except the main engine, including gearbox, CP propeller, propulsion shaft line, tunnel thruster, shaft generator, remote control system of main engine, etc was designed and produced by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd (“NGC Marine”).
This was the first case for a domestic CPP Manufacturer that realized the matching of CP propeller with MAN 32/40 diesel engine, in addition, the integrated design, installation and commissioning of this type of diesel engine and CPP control system were also done in China for the first time. Meanwhile, this was the biggest CPP system that a domestic CPP manufacturer produced for the large commercial vessel. The success of this ship indicated that the technical level of NGC Marine was leading in China, and of the same level as equivalent product in international market.
